VIRGINIA BEACH - Police on Wednesday morning arrested a 22-year-old rap artist as a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Baltimore County, Md., nine months ago.
Shortly after 8 a.m., FBI agents and police found Marcus Conaway at a home in the 3800 block of Tiffany Lane, near Tidewater Community College.
He was taken into custody without incident, police spokeswoman Margie Long said.
Conaway, known professionally as Barnes, is being held on a fugitive warrant at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center until he is extradited to Maryland.
He is a suspect in the killing of William Green III on Aug. 12, according to Baltimore County Police Cpl. Michael Hill. Another suspect was previously arrested in Baltimore. Hill did not release further details .
Investigators in Baltimore County tracked Conaway to Virginia Beach, where he was staying with family and friends while promoting his CD. "The Last Shall Be First " was released in April.
According to his record label's Web site, Conaway lists his home as Virginia Beach and Baltimore.
